Where does information for this site come from? To make a long story a little shorter. The information comes from individuals, from documents, photos, the government, libraries, websites and more. The most difficult part is to verify that it is correct. Sometimes we have information that turns out to be about someone that is not a part of the family just happens to have the same name. That is why your help, photos and family records are so important.

Why was the Unicorn selected for the LOGO? Since John McKeand(1742-1792) was selected as a starting point for the project and he was born in Scotland their national animal was selected. It is the Unicorn. It represents purity and innocence, as well as masculinity and power.
