About

Welcome to our website

This website is about the McKeand Family based on John McKeand of Richmond, Virginia. He was born 1742c in Scotland and died in 1792 in Richmond, Virginia.

The website  includes information on his heirs and the spouses family and heirs. We keep the information as accurate as we can but there are errors. Wee need your help in correcting the entries. We publish limited information about living persons. This is to protect against identity theft. If there is a problem with anything that we have published please contact us.

This site works on Computers, Tablets and Phones. The computers abilities and storage works best. Next is a tablet because of the larger screen. If you only use a phone it will work there but some pieces are a bit small. We need your help in growing our content so again contact us.

The Family Tree section is built using a family tree application (MAC Family Tree 10). The site is built using data that is entered in a database. The database contains information on both living and deceased persons but the information on the living is limited online and in the downloadable GEDCOM file. This is the most complete structure of the family. It is always changing and you can help improve the content. This selection opens in a new window or a new tab depending on your browser settings.

The Blog section is short articles on ancestors, stories about the times and events. You can contribute directly to this section by commenting or by becoming an author (This requires a login - to comment you can create your own login, To become an author please contact me). This area is a WordPress app and it is used to manage the section. What you share is important to the family history. Pease join us and contribute to this section.
